Blair -------------------------------------------- Northeast Georgetown Medical Center Dana Scully-Mulder's hospital room One week after the birth of the twins Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. When her husband, Fox Mulder, walked into his wife, Dana Scully-Mulder's hospital room, she was nursing their fraternal twins, Fox William Mulder Jr. and Dana Katherine Mulder, She looked up to him, and smiled. "I can't believe that they are coming home today." "Neither can I," Mulder replied. "I have a huge surprise for you. I can't wait for you to see it." They were their happiest time of their life since they got married and had become parents for the first time. he thought. "Is it better than a keychain?" Scully asked, teasingly. She recalled the Apollo 11 keychain that Mulder bought for her birthday awhile back. "Much better than a keychain," Mulder replied. "I can't wait to see your reaction!" He looked the twins in her arms. "Dana, they are so cute. I can't get over how much Fox William looks so much like me with his brown hair while baby Dana Katherine looks so much like you with her auburn hair." "They do look so much like us," Scully agreed. She looked down at the babies in her arms. "I still can't get over the fact that we're parents now." "We are," Mulder said, softly. He watched Scully started to feed little Dana. He bent down to look at their twins, and he smiled at them. "I wonder what color their eyes will be?" "Right now, both of their eyes are blue-green. I'm sure that will change," Scully replied. She changes the subject. "I'm looking forward to this surprise." En Route Dana and Fox Mulder's Residence Annapolis, MD Same day. One Hour Later "Keep your eyes closed, Dana!" Mulder exclaimed, as he drove towards their new home. He was excited that his wife will finally see what he had done to their new house. "Yes, they are closed, Fox," Scully smiled. She snuck a look at their twins who were strapped into the infant car seats. "What is this surprise that you keep telling us about?" Mulder stole a glance from the road to look at his wife. "I'm not saying, Dana. I'll tell you when you can open those lovely blue-green eyes of yours." "I don't think that I can wait any longer, Fox," Scully replied, smiling. Dana and Fox Mulder's Residence Annapolis, MD Ten Minutes Later Mulder drove towards the driveway of their new two-story house which was painted a forest green. as he smiled at his wife and children. "Dana, you can open your eyes now." He got out of the car, and opened the car door. He helped her with the twins. "Let me know what you think." Scully opened her eyes, and she handed Dana to her husband while she held Fox Jr. "Come see your Daddy, Dana." She saw the house, which smelled like freshly painted, and it was exactly what they had talked about. "Oh my God! Fox, it's beautiful." "I am glad that you love it. It's a five bedroom house," Mulder replied. "We have enough room for more children." "You want more?" Scully asked, softly. She couldn't believe that her husband wanted more children after the twins. She wanted more children, but she felt that they needed more time to get used to the fact that are married and first-time parents. "Yes, I do. I think that we can arrange that," Mulder replied, as he kissed her. "Let's go in." They walked into the house, and he watched Scully looking at the spacious living room with a sofa, coffee table, lounge chair, and an home entertainment with a VCR, television, and a stereo. He was thankful that he spent the day before moving their stuff from Dana's apartment into their new home. "I just can't believe this," Scully replied. "There's more that I wanted to show you," Mulder murmured. "I want you to look at the den." He opened the door to the den, and it looked like a replica of their basement office. There were two desks with nameplates sitting side by side. "I dug some things out and I bought a new poster." He paused. "Well, two new 'I Want To Believe" posters as I wanted one in the twins' room." "I love the den, but I think that it's time to put the twins to bed," Scully replied. As she went upstairs to put little Fox Jr. and Dana to bed in the nursery, she couldn't believe that this was coming true. , she asked herself. She walked into the twins' bedroom, and put down the babies in their identical bassinets. "I can't believe that your father worked so hard on the house..." She noticed her husband walking into the room. She embraced him warmly. "Oh, Fox, it's beautiful. I love it!" "I am glad that you like it," Mulder replied. "I spent the last couple of days moving the furniture in." He paused. "Don't worry, I had some help." "How can we afford this?" Scully asked. "My father left me a heavy trust fund which I hadn't used until now," Mulder replied. "Of course, our new present from Skinner also helps as well." "What new present?" Scully replied. "Our wedding present, Dana. We are now Co-Supervisiors in charge of the X-File Divison. It comes with new salaries." "New salaries?" Scully asked. "What?" "Skinner arranged for us to head the X-File Divison where we'll have some agents to do the field work and to help you with the forensic pathology. We get to transfer and assign agents to any part of the division we want. The thing is that I am not happy with is that we won't do much field work," Mulder replied, as he looked at his wife looking at little Fox and Dana. "Maybe that's for the best. We *are* parents now." "I'm going to miss the field work, Fox. However, we're going to have our hands full with little Fox and Dana," Scully replied. "You know, someday they are going to be in the X-File Divison." "I think that we are going to have a long wait before that happens," Mulder said, with a laugh. "I didn't tell you the big surprise though. You'll head up the forensic pathology unit of the X-File Divison and you will have a new lab." "We're not going to be in the basement?" Scully asked. "It sounds as though this is going to be a whole floor." "No," Mulder replied. "We're going to have a whole floor for the X-Files. We're still going to use the basement. The twins will have the basement...like we did." "I think that I am going to like this new beginning," Scully smiled. "I think that I will too," Mulder replied.
