SUMMARY: Mulder's thoughts as he finally kissed Scully on New Year's Eve. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This story is a present to Lidia from the Believe the Truth and Beyond the Sea mailing list for her birthday. Happy birthday, Lidia! This story is for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------ First Kiss Written by: Erin M. Blair ------------------------------------ This was finally the moment. Mulder knew he needed to take this chance to kiss her. He had wanted to kiss her for seven years and he had finally decided to make his move. He knew they would have kissed a year ago, in his hallway before the fateful bee stung Scully. Now the crescendo – the perfect inspiration in the form of a television set, showing couples kissing on New Year’s Eve. Mulder leaned in towards her, taking his time because he wanted to savor this moment; it was their first time…their first kiss as a potential couple. He wanted to capture it in his mind as he put his arm around her thin waist. His hand moved up her back, feeling the smooth material of her olive green jacket. *Scully has the softest skin,* he thought as he finally reached the nape of her neck, which was marred by the scratches, and then he stroked her thick, red hair. *And the most luscious lips,* he thought as he pressed his lips to hers. *It’s the gentlest kiss I’ve ever had,* Mulder thought. He was the one to break the moment. “The world didn’t end.” “No, it didn’t,” Scully said. He saw her face display a look of surprise. He knew she had never expected him to kiss her, but the moment had felt right. All he wished was that they had more privacy than being in a hospital waiting room. He gave her a smile and then he said, “Let’s go home, Scully.” He knew they would have another kiss and another moment. - end - Feedback: Yes, please. Please send any comments to eblair@sonic.net.
